The new glass-bottom Cable Cars at Genting Highlands are open!

I don’t know how many times we’ve enjoyed the cable car ride in the Genting Highlands but we all love it!

Our twins always love the cable car rides!

But now….. NOW we need to go up again and try out these amazing new glass-bottom gondolas at the Awana SkyWay! It’s been a long time coming but they are up and running and open for business! Has anyone tried them yet?!

The views look to be sensational and the experience itself must really be something to talk about, not forgetting all the photo opportunities en route! You’ll get a glimpse of Chin Swee Temple, and fly over the impressive rainforest below, as you travel between the two stations.

A shot from a previous tour in the regular cable cars and the stunning views below.

The journey itself only takes ten minutes and will set you back 50RM per person (as opposed to 8RM for their normal cable cars) but I’m thinking that for a special occasion this has got to go back on my to-do-list! If you’ve already been up, please feel free to share your stories, I’d love to hear about it! S x

Let’s Fly in Putrajaya…. If you dare!

Oh my goodness, look at this!!

Not the usual sort of thing I would post but, as I’m just getting used to the idea of not having the MyBalloon Fiesta in Putrajaya this year, maybe this could replace it?!

Not sure that I’d have the nerve to do this, and doubt it’s very child-friendly, but I bet it’s a fun thing to witness! So….. anyone up for this?! Would you do it? S x

Languages for the little ones – LOVE this!

The team down at Graceful Hands have a new line-up of enrichment classes and are offering Spanish AND Mandarin courses to kiddies from 3 years and upwards at their centre in Ampang.

The lessons are available on weekday afternoons and look to be fun and informative and are taught by native speakers which is a big plus!

While I can’t say I’ve tried these out, it does look great and I’m a big fan of children being exposed to foreign languages.

Pop over and check out their FB for more information if you’re interested in these programmes (or their Bahasa Malaysia and English language courses!)

New Kids Programme in KL at ABC Cooking Studio!

I always love it when something new comes to KL, so when I heard that Japan’s No. 1 cooking school was opening here AND they were running a ‘Kids Programme’, I felt the need to share!

Centrally located at Pavilion Elite (the newly-added retail centre that is connected to Pavilion KL in Bukit Bintang), ABC Cooking Studio opened it’s doors in December 2016 and is already booming!

They have a fab little programme put together for 4-8 year olds with different package options available, and a cute little timetable that shows you what culinary projects will be featured over the coming months.

They had a nice little event for Chinese New Year so I’m sure we’ll need to be on the look out for more fun occasions and school holiday programmes too!

A Cultural Dance show not to be missed in KL

Whether you live in KL or are here visiting, taking in a live performance is such a lovely thing to do.

Our children love these cultural performances and I’m so pleased that they are back every weekend on the outdoor stage at the Central Market in the heart of the city. Bring a bit of colour, dance and music to your Saturday evenings 😉 Definitely something to put on your agenda! S x

Titiwangsa Park in KL closing for two years?! Fear not…..

If you hadn’t already heard, Titiwangsa Park (one of our favourites in Kuala Lumpur) will be closed for a ‘River of Life’ project as of June 2017 for a possible two years!

While this definitely saddens me, it does at least give us enough advance warning to make the most of the park before its temporary closure!

I’m not quite sure how the general look of the park will change with this face lift going on, but I do know that it’s best to take full advantage of the facilities now; we love hiring bikes and cycling around the lake, the playground is beyond gigantic, and the views both day and night are lovely. Oh I will miss this place……!

But for anyone needing ideas of other parks in KL to enjoy while Titiwangsa is off bounds after June, then here is a link to my top picks for the region: https://kualalumpurkids.wordpress.com/2016/05/28/parks-and-gardens-around-kl-for-the-whole-family/

I guess, on the positive side, we now have something to look forward to when this fabulous location reopens after the project has been finished!

Enjoy, S x

The 9th MyBalloonFiesta is coming soon to Kuala Lumpur!

It’s just over a month until the “MyBalloonFiesta” is back and this time it’s being held at Desa ParkCity, in the heart of Kuala Lumpur!
We went to this event last year when it was held in Putrajaya and, while I can’t guarantee the exact same set-up, I can guarantee A LOT of fun for the whole family.

There’ll be activities from the 10th til the 12th of March 2017, with fun play areas for the little ones, live music and a really spectacular atmosphere.

18 balloons are expected to make an appearance from 11 different countries and you really get the chance to get up close and personal with the teams and their magnificent flying machines! Tickets are available online (link below) and children under 6 are completely free of charge!

We were really wowed by the colours, shapes, and sheer size of the balloons and our two children LOVED it (as did the adults!) We were there from the afternoon, through sunset, and watched them glow in the sky as they flew into the distance at nightfall.

Lots of photo opportunities available and plenty of fun to be had. A rare sight definitely worth seeing if you are around that weekend! S x
