Shah Alam Lake Gardens – a perfect family spot.

Shah Alam Lake Gardens; beautifully green, perfectly peaceful

Since arriving in KL, we had never ventured over to Shah Alam, so this weekend we made sure we ticked it off our to-do-list!

A walk around the lake is the perfect weekend activity

Our main reason for going over was to visit the Shah Alam Lake Gardens and I have to say that, to date, this has to be my absolute favourite of all the parks we’ve discovered.

Lots of paths and bridges ; scooters and bicycles for the little ones are allowed 😉

Truly beautiful and such an amazing space to walk around; perfectly green, the lake with boating activities, two different areas with children’s playgrounds and the ability to cycle and scoot your way around.

One of two playgrounds for the children!

It had a certain calm about it, a feeling of true escape and, due to its size, it felt empty!

Theres two different playgrounds around the lakes…

Being situated a good 25km west of KL it’s not exactly right on our doorstep, but Shah Alam is a city in its own rights and has so much to offer.

There’s even a water sports kiosk at the lakes.

We made a day of it (and I shall post some other highlights next week!) but if you fancy heading over that way the Wet World Water Park is in the grounds of the Lake Gardens, there’s a couple of restaurants that are on the top 10 lists for eating out with children and Shah Alam is of course home to I-City….!

The Wet World Water Park!

I know we’ll head back over there again soon and I look forward to delving deeper into the area and reporting back to you on more of our little finds! S x

A feature at the playground, a simple yet firm favourite with my children!
